Runners’ Edge Alaska is thrilled to welcome Reine Soule to our Athlete Ambassador team. Reine is a 17-year-old biathlete and Nordic skier from Anchorage, currently balancing her senior year at Service High School with a demanding training and racing schedule… all while chasing a top-10 finish at Junior Worlds, a spot on the Scandos team, and eventually a place on a Division I roster.
We sat down with Reine to talk about how she got into skiing, what drives her both on and off the snow, and why she wanted to join the Runners’ Edge family. Here’s her story, in her own words.

Tell us a little about yourself
My name is Reine Soule, I’m 17 years old, and I’m a senior at Service High School. I’m a biathlete and Nordic skier from Anchorage, and I’ve lived in Alaska my whole life.
How did you get into skiing, and what do you love about it?
I started skiing when I was young and gradually became more involved in racing. I love the competitive side of skiing, but I also really enjoy being outside, traveling, and the community that comes with the sport.
You compete in both biathlon and Nordic skiing. What are you working toward right now?
Right now, my main goal is to finish in the top 10 at Junior Worlds in biathlon. I’m also working toward making the Scandos team for Nordic, earning All-American at Junior Nationals, and eventually earning a spot on a Division I ski team.

What do you think biathlon has taught you that carries over into the rest of your life?
Biathlon has taught me to stay composed under pressure and move on quickly from mistakes. You don’t have much time to dwell on something that went wrong, you have to reset and focus on what comes next.
You have a lot going on outside of skiing too. What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?
I love pretty much everything about music. I play multiple instruments, but I also enjoy mixing and creating music, so I’m always finding new ways to be involved with it.
How do you balance being a high-level athlete with being at the top of your class?
It takes a lot of organization and being intentional with my time. My schedule is busy, so I’ve learned to prioritize what needs to get done and stay consistent rather than letting things pile up.
Why did you want to become a Runners’ Edge Athlete Ambassador?Â
I’ve used Runners’ Edge for injury prevention and have always really liked the people and environment there. I’d love the opportunity to be more involved in the local athletic community and represent a place I already value. PT has helped me address small issues early and stay healthy through demanding training.
What are you hoping to accomplish over the next few years, both on and off the snow?
Athletically, I want to continue competing internationally, improve in both biathlon and Nordic skiing, and earn a spot on a Division I team. Academically, I’m hoping to study geological engineering and continue challenging myself in areas outside of athletics

Welcome to the Team, Reine!
It’s easy to see why Reine stood out to us. She’s incredibly driven, loves what she does, and has some big goals ahead. We’re excited to be part of her training as she works toward Junior Worlds and whatever comes next.
